Province invests in the Ontario Institute for Regenerative Medicine

Today’s Ontario Provincial Budget announced a commitment of $25M over 5 years to the Ontario Institute for Regenerative Medicine (OIRM). The vision of the OIRM is to revolutionize the treatment of degenerative diseases, making Ontario a global leader in the development and commercialization of stem cell-based products and therapies.
 
Janet Rossant, Interim Director of the OIRM, is thrilled with the news, “Ontario is at the forefront of innovation in regenerative medicine and we welcome the ongoing support of the Ontario government. This investment of $25M will ensure that we can continue to advance research and treatments for the benefit of our long term health and prosperity.”
