Our research focuses on stem/progenitor cells and liver disease. We are interested in understanding the role of tumor-initiating cells/cancer stem cells in the pathobiology of human hepatocellular carcinoma. In addition, we are interested in utilizing pluripotent stem cells to model human bile duct development in order to better understand and treat human biliary diseases.
