Mesenchymal stromal cells have been shown to have immunomodulatory effects in several conditions. We have in fact completed systematic reviews of animal models suggesting that mesenchymal stromal cells are a promising therapy for asthma and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. We are therefore developing an ambitious research program to bring this therapy to the clinic, starting with pilot trials in for patients afflicted with the conditions mentioned above and progressing to phase 2 and 3 trials.
