Recent developments in biotherapeutic tools and techniques are driving better health outcomes and the commercialization of promising technologies and therapies. This workshop will cover innovative ways of using data to inform decision-making, and solutions for delivering complex cell and gene therapies. These tools and capabilities are being developed in the context of a rapidly changing industry, which may have an impact on the rate and direction of progress. Final products are subject to a commercialization and reimbursement framework that is being challenged by the pace, scale and novelty of this new era of biotechnology. The latter half of this workshop will cover the mechanisms for investment to support commercialization of promising products.

The agenda includes TedTalk speaker Dr. Andrew Pelling from the University of Ottawa delivering the keynote address. With additional presentations from

  • Alexandre Le Bouthier, Co-founder, Imagia
  • Shana Kelley, Professor, University of Toronto
  • Aaron Dulgar-Tulloch, Director of Global Process Sciences, GE Healthcare Cell and Gene Therapy
  • David O’Neill, President, FACIT
