Hai-Ling Cheng
Profile and Department: Assistant Professor, University of Toronto, Institute of Biomaterials & Biomedical Engineering
Research Interests:
My laboratory is focused on developing magnetic resonance (MR) capabilities for functional and cellular/molecular imaging. Our work spans MR contrast agent development for targeted imaging, to new acquisition approaches for novel contrast mechanisms, and finally to near real-time analysis of 4D MR datasets. Our advanced quantitative MR platform can be applied broadly for early disease diagnosis, therapy guidance, and post-therapy monitoring. Of particular relevance to regenerative medicine is our work on cellular MR imaging for guiding stem-cell therapy, MR guidance of scaffold-based regeneration, and imaging assessment of angiogenesis.
