Research Interests:
The research in Dr. Zhang’s laboratory focuses on mechanisms and therapy in acute lung injury and sepsis. There are several particular research interests, including molecular and cellular mechanisms of human neutrophil peptides in the leukocyte-mediated inflammatory responses in acute and chronic lung diseases and in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis; the novel endotoxin signaling pathways independent of TLR4; ventilator-induced lung injury and fibrosis; and cell therapy using exogenous MSC and iPSC, and activation of endogenous alveolar stem cells in lung repair and regeneration.
