Profile and Department: Orthopedic Surgeon, University Health Network
Department: Surgery, University of Toronto
Research Interests:
With a background in orthopaedics and sports medicine, I am interested in the application of stem cell technology towards the management of patients with early to late osteoarthritis, as well as, towards soft tissue and cartilage reconstruction. I am currently a co-PI for the first stem cell trial in North America in using autologous bone-marrow derived MSC’s for the treatment of osteoarthritis. This dose-response phase I/II study is currently recruiting patients and will serve as the foundation for future clinical trials using stem cells at UHN.
