Research Interests:
The liver is the one solid organ with a wonderful capacity to regenerate, and the molecular basis of this regeneration has not been well characterized. Dr. Bhat is a transplant hepatologist and clinician-scientist within the UHN Multi Organ Transplant Program, and is working to better understand liver regeneration using a combination of various dry and wet lab techniques. Her work has been supported by the Canadian Liver Foundation, the Canadian Donation and Transplant Research program, and the American Society of Transplantation.
